I've never truly understood the themes of The Great Gatsby, and since the latest film version will be coming out in a few months time, the research I did leads me to believe F. Scott Fitzgerald wasn't too fond of the decadence of the 1920s. I am interested in seeing the film which comes out in May, but I was wondering if anyone can quickly explain the novel here via an Objectivist standpoint.
