The label "charity" was affixed to this question, probably automatically. Clicking on that label brings up a substantial prior history of discussion of charity, to which this question, as formulated, does not appear to add anything new. Refer also to the topic of "Charity" in The Ayn Rand Lexicon, especially the opening excerpt in that topic. Basically, the relation between man's life and "giving to charity" depends on the context, as explained further in the Lexicon excerpts.
