I dislike how we never see Mattie happy. That represents a puritan ethic that is counter to Objectivism.
But I loved watching Mattie show that intelligence and grit can get one through the most unlikely situations.

I think Tangled was a very impressive movie, philosophically, from 2010.
It's a fantastic presentation of an independent young woman's escape from a form of slavery. The whole movie is a celebration of purpose, and of awareness, with the brilliant use of light as a symbol of awareness and epiphany.
The entire film is gorgeously animated, and the voice characterizations are brilliant, particularly by Mandy Moore and Donna Murphy.
It's also terribly romantic, and the climactic moment hits like a ton of bricks. Great, great entertainment, and great art.
